Jakarta – –
Paris St. Germain and Bayern Munich will undoubtedly stick to the Champions League final. Not just to chase trophies, but also to complete the dominance of the two teams.
PSG will fight Bayern on Monday (24.8.2020) at the Estadio Da Luz in Lisbon. For PSG, this is the first final in this competition, while The Reds pursue the sixth title since the title won seven years ago.
The battle between PSG and Bayern also marks the battle for the three-time winner between the two teams. For your information, the triple achievement consists of championship titles, national cup titles and European competition titles.
Bayern Munich successfully defended the Bundesliga title for the eighth time in a row and won the DFB Cup with a 2-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen in the final. If they had ever stepped through PSG, Bayern would have won the second triple in club history after reaching it in 2013.
Bayern also have the option to join an elite list that only includes Barcelona. So far only Barcelona have won the Treble twice (2008/09 and 2014/15).
In the meantime, PSG became Ligue 1 champions, stopped prematurely because of the coronavirus pandemic. Neymar cs then won the Coupe de France after a narrow 1-0 win over Saint-Etienne in the top game.
The story is waiting for PSG too. Thomas Tuchel’s men are in the middle of the first Champions League final in the club’s history. Even PSG managed to win their fifth trophy, having previously won the Coupe de la Ligue and Trophee des Champions.
In this game PSG prevailed against Bayern Munich in five of the eight games. However, both teams share a win from the last two matches in the 2017 group stage.
